I use 4lb Sufix Elite and really like it. Mu second choice would be 6lb Power Pro.

on how I'm fishing, but mostly 4lb mono. I do occasionally use PowerPro Braid Yellow 10/2, and I do have some outfits rigged with 6lb mono (and one with Spiderwire 20lb). But, mostly, since I'm usually casting jigs & shooting docks ... 4lb Mr Crappie Super Hi-vis & Stren Gold 4lb mono's are what I use.
I use hi-vis lines, so I can see the strike while swimming the jig back. I have and do use clear/blu mono's for tightline or bobber fishing, and they may be in a higher pound test than my casting rods.

IMHO ... there's only a few reasons why I would recommend going to 6lb Vanish : if I were breaking off on fish, with 4lb test -- if I were fishing in heavy cover all the time -- if I were fishing gin clear water -- or, if I were doing a lot of trolling (and then I may even consider 8lb test).

I mainly troll and I use 6 lb Mr. Crappie line from BPS. I like the bright green color and it is some very strong line for 6 lb test.

Easiest way is to carry extra spools with different tests, that way you can switch if you have too. I use 4 or 6 but have spools of 8, 10, 12 in case they get into heavy cover.
