Default Need advice on choosing a MINI - Crappie boat

Guys - newbie here. I have a 14' crappie boat with a 25 HP, but for some of the local lakes & ponds, I can't get it in with a trailer & have to resort to a canoe.

My question is this - has anyone ever heard of a manufacturer that makes a bonafied 12' flat bottom jon style crappie boat - it has to be under a hundred pounds (which rules out the plastic & fiberglass boats). I only ever fish 2 people & the key is that I don't want any seats between the two seat bases (I prefer square seat bases like we see on crappie boats, in lieu of slat bench seats on traditional jon boats). Here's a picture of what I have now & would like to find something like it in a stripped down 12' version I could toss into the bed of my truck ... if anybody knows of anything close to this, I'd appreciate the info, many thanks.

PS - I know I could modify a regular jon boat, but I'm really too old to take on a project like that.

    John

For Sale is a 12' Flat Bottom Pelican Jon Boat. The boat is composed of a nearly indestructible PVC construction. It has a motor plate for mounting up to a 4 hp Gas Engine. It has a second trolling motor plate on the front end. It is sitting on a trailer (2" Ball) with new wheels and tires, also included in the sale. The boat includes a Minkota Salt Water Series Trolling Motor which cost nearly $400 alone, and a Battery for the motor. The motor can be used in Fresh or Salt Water...

Included are the following: 12' Boat ($900), Trailer ($425), Trolling Motor ($385), Battery ($60), Anchor & Anchor Line, (2) Life Vests!!!

As you can see, this is nearly $1,700 worth of stuff!!! I am only asking $925 for EVERYTHING.

I just went to Dogpile Web Search Home Page and did a search 12 foot flat bottom jon boat.

Track made one exactly like you described, but I don't know if they still do. You might look for a used one.

Thanks - yeah, I remember that Tracker - it was called a Tadpole. I just checked & they're not made anymore.

Know where you are coming from, us old men have a hard time
pushing boats, on and off the trucks etc.

Have a 12ft flat bottom metal boat. Weights about 100.
Not really happy with it, will have to sell pencils on the street
    corner for a better one.

You might could get a local machine shop to strip a regular 12' Jon out and make the island seats like You want. You might have to do the carpet work if you want it. I saw one of those tadpoles one time. They were nice little outfits. They wanted 1100 dollars for them when a regular jon was almost half price.CF
