    Default Generating GPS tracks.....

GPS tracks are handy tools. I just created this track and put it on the 997.

Let just say it is a point of interest. It is a ditch. The NVB don't show it, but I know it is there.

I used Oziexplorer track tool, Ky Hydrographicsc map, created a track, and exported the gpx trackfile, then imported it to the 997 using Humminbird PC. Pretty easy.

You can do this with any GPS. Try it if you got the KY Hydrographics maps.

I will goto the track crumb trail and follow it and sidescan this ditch.

You don't need sidescan to do this track stuff, but it helps.

I also set up tracks for trolling (sometimes).

    Uhhhh Whut'd he say?

I have a Garmin 72 somewhere. I could never figure out how to use it. I tried so many times. I think I put a case of batteries in that thing and never was able to make tracks with it.
I wanted to be able to input an address (from a map at home) and then go to it out on the lake, but again, I couldn't figure out how to do it.
    Garmin's no help either.
I dont even know where it is now.
I guess my tool was just not as user-friendly at yours.
I just wish I could be better at fishing. Or maybe luckier!:D

Not really sure what you just said, but sounds like you know what your talking about. I'm still reading my handheld gps manual, that I've had for a year.

I am envious of your knowledge of electronics. I bought a hand held Garmin GPS a month ago and still can't say I really know how to use it. I can mark waypoints but I know I am not getting everything there is out of it.

Via Hummmingburd PC Connect program. You can manage your tracks/waypoints/routes using it. I use EasyGPS program to set up everything in GPX format..

You need a Mapping programs such as Garmin Mapsource or Oziexplorer or Fugawi, etc to generate tracks. There are numerous programs available.

I find this mapping stuff interesting.
