    Default Shimano IX 1000 Reels

I was looking at these reels on Monk's site and they say "right hand retrieve".

Are all IX1000's right hand retrieve? Most of these small open-faced reels can be switched from one side to the other anyway, can these?

Those look like what I want but I don't want right handed retrieve on an open face reel.

I suspect thats a mis-print as I found pictures of it showing the handle on the left side. You could always call them and verify it.

    TOM,

THE SHIMANO IX SERIES CAN BE RIGHT OR LEFT HAND RETRIEVE. THE HANDLE MOUNTS ON EITHER SIDE OF THE REEL.

Default I have 10 of them.............

they are the best deal going on an open face reel. Love that rear drag. I bought 6 if mine from Monk's at the boat show in Greensboro. Buy with confidence.

Just a follow-up on my last post.

I ordered 4 from Monk's and they came in today. Well packed and were shipped Priority Mail. They were ordered the evening of the 27th. so that was VERY fast service.

The reels look good. Just a tad heavier than I thought they would be but not outrageously heavy at all. They will be spooled with 6 lb. mono and I'll try them out this week.

    Thanks everyone for the input.
