    Default Opinions on Suzuki outboards

I'm thinking about purchasing a 91' Suzuki 9.9 horse outboard. It's a short shaft, 2 stroke w/ tiller drive. Just wondering what everyones opinons were on Suzuki motors. How do these motors compare to other makes of similiar size? Any Pros or Cons? Any and all info is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Jeffro

    I don't know about a 9.9 but my 2003 90 h.p., 4 stroke is a great motor and I would buy another.

Used a 9.9 Suzuki on one of my river boats when I was a guide on the White River in Arkansas.......was very dependable.

Thanks all for the feedback! Just wanted a little positive reinforcement
prior to making the purchase. When I went to look at it, it started on the second pull, sounded good & the impeller appeared to be in good working order.(moving lots of water) I guess it's like buying anything second hand,
you sorta just take your chances. Thanks again.

Definitely do the cylinder compression check. Also a lower unit pressure check would be advisable to check for seal failure. Just to be sure. Good luck.
