gas weedeater question

Kinda silly,but I got one over the weekend.Does it matter if you hang it by the handle or the head if it still has gas.I tried both ways and no leakage.

I can tell you that I buy weed eaters to throw them away when they quit working, so I buy the cheapest ones I can get. With that said I have hung mine by the head for the last ten years and the thing starts the first pull every time. I think it gets the gas back into the tank thus keeping it in good shape. I just pump the gas primer bulb a couple of times and it is good to go. I would add that prior to this I would only get two to three years out of one storing it sitting on the ground horizontal.
