    Default Nice July evening

I took my parents out yesterday evening for some fishing on Blue Marsh Lake and we had a good one.We ended up boating 103 Crappie in alittle over 4 hours,no real monsters but some decent eaters and alot of fun. Here is my Mom with some of the better ones we kept, the biggest was 13 1/2 inches.

Rather catch a ton of small ones anytime than to get skunked.

What were you using for bait, and how deep were the fish? I hardly ever hear of people catching crappie around here like that except for in late fall or early spring.

We caught them all off/around of one big blowdown in water 10-15 ft deep, all but one of the bigger fish(10-13 1/2 inches) were caught right near the bottom and there were a bunch of smaller fish hanging higher in the same area.We caught them about 50/50 on Fathead minnows and 1 1/2 inch Southern Pro tubes with black/chart and red/chart being the best working colors.
