Default Great deal at a garage sale today

I bought a brand new Orvis Clearwater 5 wt rod and reel (line, backing, leader) and a 1966 vintage Shakespear fiberglass fly rod today for $40 today.

    I'm so sad!!!

If you were in Ga. that would have been a cane pole with braided nylon line and a spark plug for bonus. Sounds like you found a deal.

Very nice. Congratulations on a great deal. Of course, you have to show us what we missed out on. And, could you post a closer look at that fly?

One never knows what will be found at a garage sale. Several years back at a yard sale I came across a 3pc, Hardy "cane" , mint condition with a extra tip for $350. I took it to a area Hardy shop and was offered $1000. We looked it up, it is a 1929 Hardy (as I said, mint, no sets) valued at $6000. After this find I don't care if I ever get a "deal" at a yard sale!
