Default What's your biggest crappie thread

Mine was between 16-17" caught when I was much younger, lol...I remember it looked like a whale to me. Caught it off a diving platform at a lake in southern Indiana our family camped at alot.

Post your largest crappie to date (heck, guess if you didn't measure it, you aren't gonna win anything anyway :p) , if you've got pics, post them as well. I gotta decide which state holds the bigguns, because one day, my rich uncle is getting out of the poor-house

Heaviest is a 15"er that was at 2lbs
    16" I guestimate around 2lbs
16" that was paper thin and weighed 1lb 10oz.

I have caught many 15inchers but just one that weighed 2lbs, and 2 16"ers, one with was thin

All above mentioned fish were Lake Norman. Largest Ive seen from Lake Norman was an 18" that weighed 3.25lbs

Well I can't get my wife to find the pics of her 19" crappie, bit I have caught a good number of 17"-18". I am not sure how big the ones I use to catch as a kid were, but I use to fish a small, very small lake on a Golf course and it had huge crappie in it.

    Skip

Here is a few pics of some at or little over 17"...

and here is just a nice mess I got by my self Spring 2007 in a couple of hours is all....

Chaunc, That is a monster. My largest in years was a 16 inch 2lb. female caught this spring. We have caught many 15's but the 16's and up are rare in the waters we fish.

My personal best is 18 1/4". I caught it 3 yrs. ago. Didn't have a scale so not sure how much it weighed. I've caught quite a few over 17". Here's one my grandson caught this year while fishing with me that is his personal best. He's six yrs. old.
