    Default Big smithville cat?

Seen a rumor on another site.
Jake, the electro-shocker,was shocking for cats last week along the dam.
Might have been for another species, but allegedly a 99# blue cat made here appearence

A month before in the Platte river near Edgerton,a 90# was caught in a hoop net and tagged.

    Default Wow....

That'd tug a bit on the old Mr. Crappie mono. Probably not for long though...

Cook, I was wondering something and I know you'll know. I know flatheads and channels are good eatin'. How about blues? Are they a good eatin' fish?

I'm not much of a catfisherman -- only get them when they're hungry for crappie jigs.

Blues are excellent, if you eat a blue catfish you'll never want to eat another channel cat again. The meat is white like a crappie without all the yellow that you see in channels.

I will agree with you on that on Cook. I've have had Flatheads approaching 50 lbs that taste just as good as a flathead that 15 lbs. I had great success last year catching flatheads in the Smithville Lake spillway and no matter how big they were that all taste the same, good!
