I think they are pretty good. I bought a jar of pink ones for my daughter to use for bluegill and she has caught a few nice crappie using them on a plain hook. I have tipped a tube with them and helped improve a very slow bite. They stay on the hook a little better than nibbles but I still use nibbles more.

    Default Gulp Maggots

I used them this spring on bluegills, and caught some nice 14 oz size bluegill.
I also caught some black crappie to.
I had the white one's, can't say about the other colors.

They are a good backup for when you run out of maggots and wax worms. If I'm fishing for Bluegills I will always start off with the real thing. I keep mine in cedar chips and wheaties flakes to toughen them up a little and also provide shade, shelter and food for the little wiggle worms.

I agree, caught a few here and there, but would much rather have live bait.

Try berkley nibbles in white color on a crappie jig. Grubs I haven't had any luck with. Some people may like Grubs I don't. Try a bobber about three foot down with jig and retreive slowly back. If that doesn't produce fish take bobber off and fish deeper. I have 65 pounds of frozen crappie fillets as of this writting. Good luck.
