    Default Fishing lights

Had a question on fishing lights, has anybody used the Optronics from Cabelas. I've never tried fishing with lights before and thought I might enjoy a little peace and "Quiet" night fishing. Also how long does a 12 volt battery last when you use these things. I'll be fishing off a dock.

    Thanks

I have tried a couple different Optronic lights.

Go to this link - http://www.optronicsinc.com/fishing.htm#fishnlites

I have tried the ones listed in this link as "NightBlaster UW-3000" and "UW-500G Submersible Fish-N-Lite / Green Fluorescent Light Plus Halogen Spot Beam" and neither has worked as well as my Q-Beam Starfire II lights. The Starfires will run you ~$13 apiece, which is cheaper than the Optronics and, in my opinion and experience, work better. They are available at WalMart. They're fragile though. I break about one a month.

I hook one light up to a 12V deep cycle and it will run all night long without any significant drain on the battery.
