I put some of the spiderwire 4# on a couple of my 12 ft B&M poles this spring to use spider rigging. I have bait casting BP inexpensive reels on them and it has worked pretty good. (they had one of those special nights for platinum suckers and had the $59 reels marked down to $29) One day I tried to use it working the trees and bushes. I was using minnows and a slip float and I caught fish but if I ever missed setting the hook it always got tangled. And honest to God, I think it had a magnetic effect on trees because it got tangled up with everything in site. Or maybe the fact that my reflexes and sight ain't what it used to be could have some bearing on the situation. Anyway, I found it to work well with the spider rig and the weight I used helped keep it from tangling. Another thing, I got the low viz and it really is low viz, at least to me. I don't know about the fish, but I really have a hard time seeing it to thread a hook and tie a knot. Overall, even with the negatives I think I'm going to keep using it. It has exceptional strength and practically no stretch. I haven't tried it on a spinning reel yet.
