Default Bow fishfinder on a Grip Glide minn kota?

Hey nice site here! I have been lurkin for a while but I have a question for you all.

Last night I got my new fishmark 320 that I was going to mount in the front of my boat until I realized that running the transducer cable along the shaft of the trolling motor with zip ties like they recomend will not work with the grip glide, because the shaft has to slide thru the mounting bracket to stow and deploy.

Anybody have any ideas on making this work?

or go ahead and tell me the bad news.... you should have got one with universal sonar dummie

Burk, I just purchased a grip glide trolling motor a couple of weeks ago. I rigged the transducer cable thru the coil and then down thru the grip glide handle. I taped/wire tyed the cable up by the head and then down lower on the shaft. I have had the boat out several times and the cable has never got pinched nor have I had any other problems.
I will try to post pictures tonight so you can see.
    Hope this helps.

Thanks bob, I worked on it lastnight and I rigged it just like you described. I was worried about having a bunch of cable out to get tangled, but it doesn't really have that much slack, just enough to turn the motor a little past 180 degrees.

They have a good description on the vexilar site on how to run the cable this way:

Thanks Bog G and Burk for the info here. I, too, had been wondering how to do it. Your posts explain all. Thanks.

Your welcome. Sorry about the picture thing. I am still a retard when it comes to computer stuff.
