    Default Back from Port Aransas

Just got back from Port Aransas today from taking the Wife and Kiddos down there for a week. We had a great time. Got lots of sun, played on the beach, and fished the peers. Only caught gaftop and hardheads but it didnt matter it was fun. Then came the most misserable time of my life. I paid $200.00 for me and my Son to go out on the Scat Cat (fishing boat) on a 12 hour fishing trip. Well I grew up on lakes and in boats. Well guess what folks, I paid $200.00 for me and my Son to PUKE for 12 hours :o I now know what it is like to really want to die lol. We even took dramamine before we went out as well as the night before. Oh well we chummed the waters for everyone else lol.

Sorry about your bad experience on the charter. How bad were the seas? I went out in 5 to 8 ft seas before (didn't get sick but man I sure didn't feel good) and had a blast as far a fishing goes.

Oh wow sorry to hear about that. I have always been fortunate and don't get sea sick, but have seen it a lot of times.

Thought I was Sea Sick one time, but later discovered it was just chicken we left out too long. Boy everyone was sick as a pack of dogs. We were going out of Cameron LA. back then and we stopped in Orange before we went over there and bought a bucket of Kentucky Fried Chicken, what a huge mistake that was.

This was a trip we use to go on pretty often on a 65' steel hull boat and he would go out 80 miles. We would leave the dock at about 8 PM and get back the next evening. Caught lots of red snapper (as well as some other fish) on that boat. I think it was named the Sunrise and some number like 2 or 3, don't know now. That was about 35 years ago.

I lived in Ingleside for 11 years from 1980-1991 and had a blast fishing and hunting the bay system there. Lots of red fish, trout and flounder. Good eating stuff.

Glad you had a good time, but sorry part of it was being sick,

Red face Been there, done that

Sorry to hear about you fishing trip. But to tell the truth I have been there several times too. Even on a lake once. Lake Erie, about five miles out 4-5 foot wind chop, did it for me. Pugent Sound in the fog, again 4-5 foot waves. But I keep going out.
