Spam Ideal?

This fool posted Nude photos and stuff on the board. Why not set it where you have to have say 25 post. Before you can post a picture?
Sure stop the spam that only post this stuff.

PM Ed with that idea. But, I think 25 posts would be a bit high. Maybe set the bar at 5 posts before pics can be sent. That would only stop the spam posts from having pics in them though ... it wouldn't stop the links.

Moderators can't be online 24/7 ... but, we get these spam posts off as soon as we are able. One can usually tell, just from the title, or even from the User Name of the "member" that posts them ... that they're spam, or porn, or something obviously not fishing related. I'm just curious as to why there are so many people that open these posts up when it is so obviously not a post about fishing

I think it's great that things are watched so closely. I don't click on posts that seem "fishy"(a really bad pun) but sometimes you can't tell when you click a link that it isn't fish related.
This is a great place to learn and talk about fishing. Thanks to people who keep it that way.

Some other boards I belong to actually use the number of posts to enable several things.
Signatures, links, and photos all require 5 posts, which can be new threads or simply replies to existing threads. I don't think I've ever come across spam on those boards, and 5 posts shouldn't take a "real" member more than 15 minutes on a board like this where everything is interesting.

I'll PM Ed and see what he thinks, and if he is able to do something like this.

Every one of us should be able to delete porn.The kid's are out of school for summer in my area.I ran into porn this morning and reported it.Until a moderator see's my report and remove's it how many kid's will see it.Im not against looking at a pretty woman,what I am against is my 10 year old stumbling upon this stuff! At least give more people the power to delete these thing's.Just my opinion and everyone has one.

Joejv sent me a PM with the 5 post minimum before you can post images or URLs idea, I've implemented it. Took a little effort, but I think I have it working. So, It is done, you need to post 5 messages before you get to be a real, full fledged member.
