Default Simpson Lake Boat Ramp. One more try.

Ok, I have called all the numbers I have and can't get a direct answer from anyone on wether or not Simpson County Lake in Valley Park is now open since the flooding? Is the Boat ramp open? If anyone has any information about this or has a number I can call...I would appreciate it.

    Thanks

    Default Jet Boy...

Thanks, I was going to try it Saturday morning for a few hours, but, if the ramp is closed or is packed with debirs....then, I'll check off some honey-do's instead.....

    The ramp is open!!!!

It is open with some debris laying around but nothing from keeping a person from putting in. The water is really muddy.....not sure why, maybe from the wind the last several days.

    Have fun and good luck!

Let me know how you do.

Looking around today it looked like the park must have been covered with several feet of water from the Meramec.

It will be interesting to see if the flood messed up the fishing.

So has anyone checked this lake out ? With gas prices the way they are I'm thinking about buying a smaller boat to fish more local places. Thanks for any info on this or other St. Louis area lakes.

I hit Port Hudson today- its something to consider, but MDC doesn't stock crappie in these smaller lakes. Your best bet is the big three or cats, gills or bass. Hudson is a nice lake with LOTS of wood cover.
