Cat - I've used 10 and 12 ft BPS Uncle Bucks Crappie rods for years trolling and spider rig. Hard to beat at $18 for 12', $16 for 10. They collasp (?) down to about 3-3-1/2 ft and have several eyes. Only broke one and that one a hybrid or something hit and headed under the boat, but BP replaced when I carried back. Think they have some way to date, etc. I think Uncle Bucks not in BP catalog but in stores. This year switched over to Cabela's Whupping Stick Rods and really like. They are more like rods and less like poles. None of these will have the 'feel' of the $40 rods but then they ain't $40. Jim
