Positive or Negative?

I had a few crappie in the lucky bucket (livewell) and noticed there was a lot of floaties (fish slime) in the water. I turned the pump to add fresh water and a ton of these floaties came out the overflow. My question is this a positive or a negative for your fishing area? On one hand it, I would consider it food for some small critters and on the other, would the fish put off a warning that something's not quite right??
