    Birddog,

I pray that I may live to fish until my dying day. And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray. When in the Lord's great landing net and peacefully asleep. That in His mercy I be judged, BIG ENOUGH TO KEEP.

I work with Anhydrous ammonia (Cold Storage) and it will corrode brass and copper so I would say it is true. The crank heads use to steal ammonia but now make their own someway.

I wish it was mandatory for the tank manufacturers to be required to install a device that would cause the tanks to explode violently when put in contact with anhydrous ammonia. These meth monster trash SOBs are responsible for a large majority of crimes in my area. The courts won't deal with them and we taxpayers have to support them for life after they totally ruin their health doing the crap. I have ZERO sympathy for them and could care less what bad things could happen to them.

This could be a problem for those places that exchange tanks. If you go to a place that refills your own tanks for you it shouldn't be a problem.

I get mine refilled at a U-haul place not too far from me. They only charge for the amount of LP they put in the tank so I not getting ripped if I take a tank in with some still in it.

I don't know about WalMarts in your area but around here, the average employee isn't smart enough or doesn't care enough to look at what is being returned to the store. Same goes for convenience stores that do tank exchanges.

I tried Snopes but couldn't find it, thanks. It appears even Snopes is in doubt so I will be checking mine alot closer. I think I'll start having mine filled instead of exchanged.

The meth cooks dont exchange the empty tanks for full ones. They want empty ones so they can fill them up with anhydrous. If the tanks come into contact with any anhydrous the valve will turn green. It is pretty easy to see.
