    Default Pair of Seventeens


    Michael and Paula Brown from Fort Worth, TX fished with me this morning and they each caught a crappie just over 17-inches long and Paula caught another one that was 16.5-inches long.








    We only kept 14 crappie and a black bass this morning but our smallest crappie was 13-inches.


    The crappie are finally starting to settle back in on our deeper brushpiles but still pretty scattered. It's been a very stressful spawning season, especially for the white crappie, which have lost about 1/3rd of their weight since February. Hopefully they'll start getting serious about putting some weight back on now that the spawn is finally over.
