    Default Tip & Tricks, CrappieBasics

    Here is a neat trick.
3/16 inch tubing from craft store or wherever.
Cut off about 1/4 inch long piece and slide your
    line threw it.

Then tie a small jig feathered or otherwise on to the line.

Slide the tubing down over the eye of the jig to keep it riding horizontal. You will decrease your missed hits
    on the jigs.

    Ship provided the pictures.

I am a believer in a good palomar knot with no tubing. If you tie the knot correctly, the jig will hang correctly.

I do not know why dad would say "WRONG SETUP ......SHIPAHOY JIGS" My setup has worked quite well for over 50 years.

If you believe then no proof is necessary. If you do not believe then no proof will be sufficient. I am not condemning those who use a small tube with your setup...I am just saying that I am one who does not.

    THESE ARE MY PICTURES.....

Shipahoy, Not referring to your setup being wrong, was referring
that if people let it hang at 45 degree, it be more effective if it hung the way it was made.

    Thanks Bob.
What should be important to anyone is that Bob is coming off that this was his idea. Apparently he is just using someone elses ideas. He comes off like he is the original person to come up with great ways to catch Crappie, which are just old time ways of doing things. That is called plagerizum. (sp) jmo!

I see nobody taking credit for anything, just Bob saying "Here is a neat trick." Thanks Bob for sharing.

Ummm, you guys are missing something here. The last sentance in the original unedited post, which was posted at 4:22 pm, originally said something very close to the following: "Ship provided the pictures. I provided the idea. What a team." The post was later edited at 5:05 pm to remove the sentances, "I provided the idea. What a team." Now all you see in the post is, "Ship provided the pictures." At least he took out the part where he was taking credit for the idea, I guess.

I also thought it was a little cocky, but decided to pass on it and let him enjoy the gloating. Then Wichita called him out and then you all jumped on Wichita. Anyway, good catch, Wichita.
