    Thumbs down Sunday 8-1-04

Me and my buddie "T" went fishing this morning at the Sandy Cove pit
we only caught 2 small sacalait and 2 keeper bass and 2 goggleyes
water was beautiful and dropping quickly. We took a short boat ride
past grevenburge to MaMa's Pond where we could have caught plenty
bream but left because of the heat. When we passed back by grevenburge
we met another buddie who had 25 sacalait from grevenburge but we
    decided to leave.
How about any one else that went today any bites?

    GET BIT !
I went to the Clear Water pond on Saturday. I fished hard all day coming up with (3) 12" crappie. I let 2 smaller ones go. I caught all 5 trolling a black and green tube jig right next to the bottom.
This would have been might first trip with the new fish finder. I spent all week getting it setup in the boat. I went to turn it on. NOTHING! The inline 3amp fuse was burnt. You guessed it. I did not have another one.
Question? Will the sequence you hook the fishfinder to the power supply burn a fuse? Should the ground be hooked first or the hot hooked first, or should I keep the fuse out until the battery is hooked? OR, Should I just take that darn fuse out all together? The main thing is I still had fun. MAN I LOVE FISHING!
I can't leave now; They fixen to turn on.

I don't think you have to hook it up in any certain order. The only thing is do
you know if it was ever getting power before you used it with the trolling motor?
Maybe the fuse was burnt from the start? My fish finder dosen't have a fuse and
I have already hooked it up before turning it off plenty times and it always worked
I have turned it off by disconnecting it also, still no problem.Only thing I can think
of is maybe its burning a fuse while the troll motor is on since you are using one
battery. I only used one battery for the both with no problem but I have no fuse
    to blow.

It was working the night before at the house. Maybe something got wet.
I went and got two packs of fuses at lunch. I'm ready for him now.
