    Default Truman Lake fishing

    Hello.

Just joined and this is my first posting.

I have been fishing since I was a kid. Retired two years ago and we (my wife and I) have been fishing Truman Lake quite a bit. We fish out of the State Park Marina. We have had pretty good success with crappie, but I often see others that are doing better. I guess I still have a lot to learn.

Can anyone tell me about spider rigging? Never heard of it until last year. I understand the set up but don't know the method. Do you anchor, drift, troll or tie up to a tree? If you use jugs, don't you need to keep some movement on them?

    Thanks for any help.

Spider rigging is usually slow trolling with the rods spread out the back and sides of the boat. Not sure if you could do it drifting or not as you need to keep all the baits moving. I do use jigs and small crankbaits while spider rigging, but there are folks who do it with minnows too.

    Welcome aboard Speck.
You need to check the Missouri board http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/forumdisplay.php?f=33
out and get to know some of the Missouri posters there. They are quite active and there and they share a lot of info and they seem like folks one would like to fish with.
