    Default Patoka

We did fish Patoka at the spring outing.
Crappie were on the bite Friday with several limits caught. Some big slabs 2 1/2 to 3 lbs. were also caught.
Crappie were shallow and hitting everything from small jigs to crankbaits. Very aggressive.
Several nice bass were also caught and released up to 6 lbs. on spinner and buzz baits.
After the big storm rolled over us the fishing got worse, but one of the members did catch a nice bass in the tailwaters. Jumped about 3 times before breaking his line.
The crappie all still had roe and are very near to spawning. Soon as the weather gets better, i think they'll be back on the bite

About all the crappie were taken in the backs of coves, guess the water was warmer there.
No reports of any being caught in the main lake body.
