    Default New trolling motor technology.

Not really new technology. It is just not available from Motorguide or Minn Kota. The brushless motors are far superior operating and far more efficient than a brushed motor.

I used brushless motors in my models. By far less troublesome than the brushed models.

I am sure someone in China makes a brushless motor type trolling motor. Wonder why Motorguide or Minn Kota haven't advanced into this technology.

I've often wondered that too as brushless motors have been around for a long time. Maybe not enough torque? (just a guess)

Probably cost to convert. My small brushless motors have more torque than my brushed motors (same physical size). Brushless more expensive though.
