Default Mixed bag, Hybrids, Sandbass & Crappie all in one spot.

Hybrids in upper left, Sandbass lower left and Crappie around the log.

I recorded this Thursday afternoon and assumed they were sandbass so I didn't fish for them.

Friday afternoon after a slow morning we decided to catch a few sandbass for fun so I returned to the (secret) spot.
Started jigging a slab and caught two big Crappie. Since we had a tournament scheduled the next day I left like a scalded dog.

Sat. morning went to the spot first thing, scanned it and it looked the same. Started jigging with the Rocky Top Super slabs and caught most of our bigger fish there by 9:00. Only problem was we had to catch about 50 big sandbass and small hybrids while we were at it.:D

Lesson here is never assume anything, check it out.

We won $375.00 for second overall and had the big fish. Missed out on first by 2 oz.
    Not bad for accidental fish.
    Good fishing.

I use a Humminbird 997 Side imaging sonar.

I have a program on my computer called Yellowfin. I record my scans to a SD chip and download them to my computer. One of the playback features is the lines showing depth. There's a lot of other neat features, You can play back, pause, back up, fast forward, zoom, switch side, change colors all with active gps info.

You can see lots of things that you miss on the lake.

The lure is a plastic, solid body tube about 2.5" long. Se Pic.

Great job,Mr Paty. I've caught alot of fish off a jig that looks alot like that one. Just goes to show that you don't need all them fancy colored jigs. It's how you fish it that matterslot of the jigs today catch more fisherman than they do fish:D,JMO,,,,,

The southern folks refer to white bass as sand bass. Or is it us northern folks refer to sand bass as white bass. Its one of those two.:D
