Default What does your County do for Memorial Day

Just wondering what the people here Counties do for Memorial Day. Here in Cottle County, a group of us get together every year and hammer down the crosses of all the deceased Veterans from Cottle County. It was sad, we added 25 more this year. On Memorial Day all the Veterans and anyone else that want to show up meet that morning for free coffee and donuts and then we have a Memorial Day event where several speak and also they read the names of the Deceased Veterans from the prior year. Then we sing the National Anthem, have Prayer, and lower the Flag. All the names of the Deceased Veterans are on the crosses.

Always a big day here in SW Fl. ( Lee County ) We have a large population of WWII vets, always take the time to listen to them thay are truly a great generation. And the ones we have now are fellowing in there footsteps.
