    Default big fish

    Hey guys,
I fished lake conroe on Saturday. As you all know the wind was howling. We went out on the lake and quickly turned around and fished in protected coves. About 3:30 pm the fish started biting really good. After missing the biggest crappie of my life...(fish threw the hook as I reached to grab him). I was so mad thinking I missed my chance...10 mins later in the same spot I caught a 17" crappie. Every crappie we caught in the 8-12 depth in 25 foot of water. I used jigs and minnows. Some times I could'nt get a bite with a jig, while my partner was catchin like crazy off minnows. At other times, a jig was the hot choice...

    Smile sounds like fun

that is some good info. i live on lake houston and have not even tried to fish because of the north wind. seems like i never catch anything on a north wind. guess i should forget about the wind and just get out there and try. wish you had some pics of those big fish. good job-see ya on the water.
