    Default Another Dye Question

Anybody used JJ's dyes? Specifically the Methylate color? I was wondering what that looks like on a pearl or white color? Thanks!

Surely someone has used this stuff. Just bringing the post back to the top in case that someone missed it.

I have never heard of that dye. I did find their website and it looks like they may be a regional, rather than a national company so responses may be limited. I have never been satisfied with an dye on a tail unless I was touching up a manuf tail that faded or if I was dying a clear or a clear with flake. It may be fine on the body( I never try to dye a body) but I like a tail to be transulcent and pearl or white doesn't produce that in my view.

Lightbulb Never used that, but I use this..

Fish Formula has basically the same thing, but without the added scents. I personally do not like to use Garlic for Crappie. Just personal preference.

I may be wrong on this, but at times...I think it does. The main reason I avoid it so much, is because I feel it tends to draw more preditory attention to my offerings. That is a big negative when you are trying to fish a tournament, and only have limited time to produce your best stringers.

I prefer either natural Minnow, Shad, or Anise in no particular order for scents. We credit our win at Mark Twain to Fish Formula's Game Scent which is a cross between Anise & Shad. It is very pleasant smelling, and masks human odors well IMHO. Let me know if you are interested in any of their dyes, or scents. I use them all ot the time, and highly reccomend them.

    Full baskets to ya!

Well....if its other predators that might cause a problem....thats not a problem with me! But I understand where you're coming from. I know a guy who almost exclusively night fishes dock lights for crappie, and his dye has the garlic flavor on it. He catches a bunch of crappie, but also a lot of white bass, hybrids, and stripers. I wonder if the latter might be due to the garlic?
