I`ll be there from Thursday the 15th to Sunday the 18th. Cant wait, should be biting well as long as the weather stays dry awhile and we have warm weather.
Has anyone been fishing Lake Sugema lately?
Looking to head there Wednesday for an all day trip. Was down 3 weeks ago and did very well catching 42, 10 to 13 inch crappies in 4 to 6 feet of water around standing timber. This is a nice lake, but tough to navigate with all the trees broken off below the water, so leave your good boat home or use someone elses!:D
Thanks,

Fished Wednesday, 5-14 and the crappie still haven't moved up on to the banks. The crappie bite was slow, but the bluegill were hammering anything you threw at them. We ended up keeping 2 - 11" crappie and 29 HUGE gills all 8" to 9".
Fished again Sunday, 5-18 and couldn't hardly keep the boat in the water because it was so windy. Tough bite today only ending up keeping 2 - 10" crappie and 8 large gills.

Your right Slab_Seeker, that wind was brutal, and chilly. I was on the lake Sunday too. Friday and Saturday also. All our crappies were 9 to 11 inch with more leaning towards 9 inches. I was finding alot of walleye too. Lost a good one right at the boat that would have went 3 lbs. Was using minnows for crappies, but the walleyes took them too.
We found the crappies to be in shallow water about 4 to 6 feet deep. Fishing 2 to 4 feet deep with a slip bobber. There is a roadway that got covered by water when the lake was made. The crappies were holding over the roadbed and the ditches on both sides of the road. If we strayed away from this spot, which we visited Fri, Sat & Sun, we didnt have nearly the luck that one spot gave us. Got nearly 100 crappies off that roadbed.
That's a good area to fish, if it's the same roadway we fished 4 weeks ago and did very well around. We headed over to it again Wed morning, but there was already 3 boats in the area. Doesn't anyone work anymore?
Thanks,

The Bluegills are doing the same here in NW Iowa. We pulled in 54 POUNDS of Bluegill.. (We weighed the 2 Full Cages we had on out boats) These babies were 9-9.5.. every one! We could see the flapping on each other on the water tops...
Crazy! Fun fish to catch with the Ultra lights!
