Used to do that all the time. Plugs are cheaper then motors.

Just remember, if you gum up the rings and they quit working properly, you could still "scorch a cylinder.

Sounds like a good way to have a tree-huggin', frog lickin' nature nazi chasing you around the lake because of the smoke. Extra oil is not a bad thing if you tend to run at higher RPM most of the time. I wouldn't want to try trolling while loading up that much oil.

This post is going to be gooee especially for your plug's.I wouldnt reccomend it but I have never blown a cylinder. You dont have oil injection do you as that is a whole nother problem? If you run your boat wide open you might not have much of a problem with a double mixture but if not you surely will. The smoke from the oil will look like a thunderstorm trailing you.Im curious to see the correct answer to this one.

That would make it 25:1 or the same as ½ the gas in the same amout of oil. It really not needed normally but would be a good idea to do it for the first 10 hours while you break in your new short block. If your really don't trust the oil pump you could always disable it and mix your gas the old fashion way. I know of several people that have done that.

There is the problem! Disconnnect the oil reservoir and mix it with the gas yourself.

I agree........I'd do one or the other (rely on the OEM setup or do away with it, and mix it yourself). I think trying to double-insure it's getting enough oil will cause the "premature-oil fouled-plug" problem to be your next continous headache. I'd consider the failure a mere fluke, and wouldn't expect it again......JMHO.
