If you don't want to spend a lot of money, I second getting an Ugly Stik. Very sensitive tip and cheap.

I agree with the Ugly Stik, very nice and ya can't break it. Bass pro Micro lite is another good choice.

How much are you willing to spend

Some more to think about :

Sam Heaton Super Sensitive 7' ... BnM (~$45)
    Berkley Cherrywood 7' ... Wal-Mart/multiple retail sports outlets (~ $25)
    Six Sense ESP Series Panfish Spinning Rod ... 6'6" ... Cabela's (~$75)
Crappie Wizard All Purpose 7' ... BnM (~$40)
    St Croix Avid AVS70ULF 7' ... St Croix (~$150)

All of these have cork handles & fixed reel seats, except Cabela's ESP Series ... which has a graphite Tenn handle and slip rings.

    ... cp

    Default Rod

Been using a 7.5 ft BPS Micro Lite all spring with a slip bobber. Very satisfied with it. You will need one of the Fuji hook holders. Only complaint is no hook holder.

I would go with the BP Micro. I have 4 of them and I use them for Trout to Crappie.
