    Default Racoon 5/6

Water temp 63- 66 degrees and pretty clear. Caught 20 10 1/2"-13" in 10 feet of water. Most fish came on minnows as they didn't want to hit the jigs very bad. Thanks to Skeeter Jeff, most of the fish came north of the 36 bridge. Males are starting to turn pretty dark and the female's eggs were getting bright yellow with bright red veins. Should start to spawn pretty soon if the weather holds.

Thanks for the update bfbob. There is hope @ racoon afterall. I've been struggling there so far this season.

    Bob,

You are welcome for the tips. I have a walleye tourney on Sat. at Brookville, but my wife and I may be back on Raccoon on Sunday. We will be in a red & white Skeeter Fish & Ski. If you see us, say hey!

    Default raccoon 5/6 update

We had about the same results yesterday at Raccoon as BFBOB. However, we caught most of ours on jigs with black and chartruese tube with bobber, 3 ft. deep along shoreline, north of 36 on west side. We quit fishing around 1:00 p.m. We had a great time hope you all have the same.

Skeeter, Took your advise on 5/6 before the rain hit and got onto Racoon around 6pm
didn't have much time but still caught 8 nice crappie and returned several dinks for next year. Plan to hit Salamonie tomorrow.
