Today i took a co-worker out speck fishing for his first time. It was also his first time fishing out of a kayak and using nothing but artificial baits. Being superstitious about first time trips and camera I made sure mine stayed at home so as not to jinx the trip. Well it worked. He tore em up. They started out suspended about 4 feet down in 8 feet of water this morning when it was only 44 degrees out. By 2 pm the sun had warmed us to 72 and the fish had moved right up on the shallows next to the deep water where they had been suspended in the morning. My co-worker was stunned to see the whole fish movement take place and to actually be able to watch them in the afternoon. What a great day. I think I just created another crappie fisherman. :D

Very nice, you had way better luck than I did. Went last night and only managed about 10. I did get three big pigs, but the fish were hard to catch. Looks like you guys had a blast. I think the spawn is a few days away from being over here, if its not already.
