Have a safe trip and enjoy the time with your dad.
Gettin' ready to head out tonight for fishing at Reelfoot, Wed.-Fri. It's the annual trip with our deer hunting buddies and one of my few (if any) chances I get every year to fish with my dad. Thus the pic of a Reelfoot sunset for my avatar -- it's always special even if the fish aren't biting.
Obviously a much different lake than LOZ, but fun nonetheless. It IS nice not to fight the huge waves from cruisers and countless waverunners, though. The group mainly fishes for bluegill/bream/crackers, but I'll have a crappie jig hanging over the side of the boat for good measure.
Good luck this weekend, everyone!

Scott, how was Reelfoot?
Mike
I ran into the ol boys while I was down there...I'm pretty sure they did very well. Me and the wife were crappie fishing....and man was Friday a good day! Hey Scott, keep in touch....

Thanks, Greg -- yeah it was a good week.
Mike, our numbers were decent (probably around 1,400 fish -- mostly bream) for the six days, but the size was huge. Big, big bull bluegill and the females were nice-sized, too. Throw in a few odd cats and crappie here and there and we ended up with a nice bunch of fillets for everyone in the group.
It was great fishing with my dad -- we had a hoot -- and the weather treated us well, too. It certainly was better than what we had at home (near St. Louis) for the same timeframe. It was nice visiting with fellow crappie.commer Greg (Bails) and his wife, Angela, too. Great helpful people, as usual with the folks on this site!!
