well i slipped out for an bit after work yesterday and managed to get a few decent specks and some gills and pumpkin seeds. used a 1/32 oz jig in orange tipped with a half of a nitro trailer soft plastic earth worm. was kind of funny because the guys sitting just 30 yards away were using minnows and only managed to catch 3 fish in the time that i put my dozen on the stringer and released about 10 others, of course i was bombarded with questions when i left and paddled past there big ole, fully loaded bass boat in my kayak. i think sometimes the low profile of my kayak prevents the fish from spooking so quickly in shallow and/or clear water. those guys were standing on the deck of the bass boat trying to catch fish only 10 feet or so from their boat in clear water so i think the fish were actually seeing them up there. not sure if this is true, just my theory.
