    Default Night Fishing

Hey guys I wanting to try some night fishing this summer and wanting to buy some lights to get started and wondered what you would recommend. I am going to buy some black lights for crappie and smallmouth fishing, but I didnt know to buy a floating light or submersible. Thanks

    Hi Greenwing

Just get the submersable white lights from Walmart and set them about a foot or two under the surface.

I use two submersable halogens, front and back, throws alot of light. Have a black light to see bobbers if not tight lining. Light from submerged lights lets me see painted rod tips without another source.

Biggest thing you have to remember is to be patient. Its will take 45min to an hour for your baitfish to school up around your lights. I use one green light in the middle of the boat right under the surface. Brings enought fish in for three guys to catch fish for a couple hours.

I had been using the small green lights from the local sporting goods store with some sucess. But bought a 4' green light on ebay for a little over $100 that works much better to attract the bait. My brother in law has fished his boat side by side with a white light and the bait seems to be more attracted to the green light.

I'm trying to get into night fishing also.
I bought one of those black lights at wmart with suction cups.
What are you suppose stick it too?
My boat has carpet on the inside, nothing that a suction cup would stick to.

you should be able to move the cups to the underside of the light and suction it to the outside of your boat if your boat dosn't have an area big enough on the top
