    Default Oh my aching back!

Any of you guys have any tricks for us old folks that get back pain from fishing all day. I just put arm rests on my boat seat in hope of taking a little wieght off of my back, but I have yet to try it. It is sad becasue there are many days I would like to be fishing (every day) but don't becasue I know the price I'll have to pay.

I bought a boat big and stable enough to stand up and fish. I alternate between sitting and standing. Helps a bunch.
What the others said about seats is true as well. I just outfitted this boat last fall and made the mistake of buying Walmart generic boat seats. They really stink. Avoid them.
I think the backing is made of cardboard.

Yep, Walmart seats suck. They will break the first time you lean back in them. The plastic ones won't break, but the might as well, you can't lean back in them either.

I bought a Tempress High Back, and it is all anyone should ever need. It's great...

These are pricey but after 2 back surgeries it does make a difference. I use it in a 15' stick steer and I don't think I could fish out of it without it.

I used to have the same problem but now it is not so bad. What I done was find a good qualified chiropractor and get regular adjustments. I has done me a lot of good. I was about to have to undergo surgery but never had it. Hope you find a solution to your problem as well.

Aleve has an anti-inflammatory and pain killer combination. It works better than aspirin for me. Just like aspirin, though, it can be hard on your stomach.
