    Default Minnow Trap (Home Made)

Here is a very simple do-it-yourself link to a home made minnow trap. It works best if you set it all night, and fun for the kids too. Here are some before and afters taken in the Ozark region of Missouri. I am a cheap bourbon man, so the last picture shows it doesn't have to be a 2 liter bottle.

If you want a big one, I've done the same thing with an office cooler water bottle.

Alot of offices have a water cooler that uses those big clear plastic bottles-around 5 gallons. They have a narrow neck, etc, just like a 2-liter pop bottle, just a heckava lot bigger. The empties are usually picked up by the supplier (they reuse them), but I just asked a couple buddies who work in an office and they snared two of them for me (takes two to make one trap). Like the picture shows, just cut the bottom out of one and the cone top off the other, and stitch the cone inside the one with the bottom missing. The bottle top is a little bigger in diameter (say, an inch and a half), but it doesn't seem to make any difference.
