    Default Lotta folks drowning here.....

Lots of folks falling out of boats and drowning around here lately. Sometimes I wish I had bought that War Eagle 754VS. It is an inline stick steer. I getting old and feeble.

Your thoughts on the drownings. It sure makes you think more about safety.

Preacher drowned here the other day. Fell out of boat. My o my.

I just bit the bullet and bought a self inflator.
There's been a few topics on life vest here.
I just figured, I'd quit talking about them, and buy one.

    Good topic though.
It's that time of the year again and it needs to be stressed about safety.

Tom that is why I bought a pair the SOS Suspenders when they came out. I was where I may or may not fall. And if I fell out of the boat. At least they do not have to drag for me.
Tom If it were not for the ride. That Stick steer boat is what I would have .
The lund is a deep safe boat. So I think I can fall in it.

We always wear one; they may be a little uncomfortable, but it gives me a peace of mind...

I wear an inflatable all the time---don't even notice it any more. Just got rid of an F&F sticksteer. Loved the boat, but the ride was a killer in rough water.

I usually wear one while running, seldom(never) when actually fishing. I had it on today, idling, in very rough conditions. I won't say I was scared, but I was...concerned. Wind got up while I was fishing back up in a creek. Meanwhile, the main lake was getting with it. Of course, I had to go crosswind, very wet ride. I was glad I had the vest.

    Default Wear the vest!!!

Well,, I "went in" Jan. 5th of this year into 42 degree water when my 17 footer capsized (been fishing and guiding all my life) -- bulletproof -- WRONG!. I was Lucky!!!

I haven't told my story on here yet, but I intend to shortly, simply because I do not want anyone else to ever have to deal with that... Long story short, I now own an automatic life vest and a 20' high sided boat.... I put the vest on when I get out of the truck!!!! .. Go ahead and call me a wuss, I don't care,, I'm Alive!
Storing the vest in the rod locker may not allow you to get it IN TIME!.. Wear it!.. Period

    More to come............

90% of drowning victims are not wearing life vests and usually are not traveling at high speeds. I have an auto inflatable and I wear it. Nevr can be too safe around water.
