    Default Long pole jig fishing?

Im not doing something right. I told myself that this year I would master it but still haven't caught the first fish. Last weekend I hit a cove full of stumps, went through with my minnows from end to end and caught lots of fish. Broke out the long pole and jigged all the stumps and structure where I knew the fish were and never got a nibble. I used various colors and sizes with no luck. Went back through again with minnows and caught more fish in the same spots. I can always catch fish with the long line method over brush piles, but cant seem to get the hang of jigging shallow cover. Does anybody have any suggestions?
