I had a reel do the same thing. i took it apart and dropped/lost the spring. so i took a piece of fishing line and tied the one way ball bearing over to the side where the spring went. works fine now, maybe better than before...KP
Sorry for posting this here, but I don't see a maintenance section. I have an Abu Garcia Cardinal 101 spinning reel that I use for panfish. After oiling it tonight, I realized my ant-reverse wasn't working. I did exploratory surgery and noticed that the spring that controls it had slipped off. I have put it back on where I think it should go, still not working. Does anyone know a solution? I have looked at schematics and cannot tell exactly where it should go. I greatly appreciate any help. I will post pictures tomorrow if necessary.
Thanks,
Ross

I did something similar to skinny with the fishing line. Besides that, I just never turn the anti-reverse off. Always leave it on.
Caught so many fish today my thumb is sore from clicking the counter.
Throw it away and get a shimano.I dont buy ABU reel's anymore because of all the problem's I've had.
penn cv4000 should fix the problem also
