I'll be in Como, Ms. from 4/25 -28. Will the crappies be still on the banks then and will waders and a long pole do the trick ? I'll be there on business, but can't pass up the opportunity to do some fishing. Any pointers and far as places to go nearby ?
Ksdog, the easiest place to get to would be the north side of Sardis Lake. Go south from Como on I 55 and east on MS 315 at Sardis, MS, exit.
There is a bait shop E of town (Tabors) that might be able to give you some help. It is about 2-3 miles from I 55, just after road forks to right. MS 315 continues to Sardis Dam, but other fork will take you down the N side of Sardis Lake to the various ramps.
The fish are being caught in coves and ditches and have been right on the bank in 12"-18" of water. Obviously the easier places to get to have probably been fished pretty hard.
Good fishing!
