    Default Chickahominy Lake 4-19

Launched at Ed Allens 9:30-10:00. 6 crappie all on small side, caught em
minnow/slip float all in less than 3' water and all within 15' of shore in
Johnson Creek. Also 6 bluegill that were real nice, not bigger but better
catches for what they are than the crappie were. A baby pickeral, baby
bass, and about 2# bowfin rounded out the day. Came off the water at 3:00
but spent maybe 1-1/2 hrs. toolin around the lake doing impotant stuff like
watching nature and contemplating the meaning of life.

    Shoulda went to Beaverdam.

Good to hear we weren't screwing it up. Me and my fishing buddy (BlueGenu) were there around 1 and left about 5:30. Not much to report. 1 pike about 24" and a bowfin about that same size were all we managed as well. We did better on sunday when we caught about 6 bass (one about 3#) and a handful of Crappie and Bluegill and the usual Pike or two. Both days we used minnows on a slip bobber in 4' or less.
I believe it was Johnson Creek we were in most of the time. We probably saw you there.
I hope they soon turn on!
