what were the water temps? were you fishing shallow or deep. down here in allegan co. the water temps in the shallows are hovering in the low to mid 60's and the papermouth's are prespawn.
fished stony in oceana county from about 6pm to 1am killed the rock bass and a few jumbo perch only ONE spec just after dark on a pinkie, highlight of the night was my buddy hooking up with a 24.5" steelie, was a beautiful fish!!
i cant believe 6-7 hours out there and one stinkin spec, was using jigs tipped with minnows changed depth, location, color, retrieve speed to no avail.... any suggestions?
PS Stony Lake is a drowned river mouth NOT a "lake" FWIW..

Life has many choices, eternity has two...choose wisely.
Unapplied biblical truth is like unapplied paint...how many gallons do you have sittin' around? U.D.
i didnt have a thermometer and i fish from shore so no depth finder either, i would guess water temps were around 50 degrees, i was fishing 6 ft deep, standing on a swimming dock. all the panfish are shallow alreay and stony is FILLED with steelies right now

It is not about the equipment you have to use,
