    Default My First 3lb Crappie

Well.....after years of trying.....I got my first 3lb crappie Tuesday. Had a 2-14 the day before. Checked the calibration on my scales, thought that one was over 3, but the scales were dead on. The next day I caught this 3lb 6oz fish. She was only 16" long, but a football! The fish next to her weighed 2lbs 4oz for comparison.

Lake JB Thomas, south of Snyder, TX. The males are just now in the shallows and the bigger females are staged at 7'-10' and moving up now and then to lay. Water in the mid 70s, they are running late for here this year.

    Fantastic and congrats to you.
Question though. Why did you slap them across the lips like that.
Looks like you gave them some fat lips.:D
