Default All is going to the pot CrappieBasics

With all the information from jigs, minnows, casting, trolling, weather,
boats (mine is bigger than yours)

    Did I forget something?

WHY NOT TRY FISHING WITHOUT BAITS?

    Permission to use photo:

Quote: Sure no problem, I have to tell you a little story first about the crappie my son caught.

My son is 3 1/2 years old when that picture was taken. We were fishing off the dock and it was just getting dark when a bluegill just stole his bait. I told him to let me see it, but he wouldn't let me put a worm on for him.

He started swinging the pole, with an empty hook, around in the water saying "I don't want any bait, daddy!" I told him "well then you won't catch anything."

    Boy was I wrong!

A couple seconds after I said that a crappie takes off with the hook, and then he lifts it up onto the dock. I couldn't believe he caught it. His first crappie.
    Thanks,

When is the last time you took your kid or neighbors fishing?

Had to laugh with you Bob. I was taught to keep a child content fishing let them try their ideas on the type of bait to use and they will finally see that the grow up knows what they are talking about. YEA RIGHT, I have had both of my sons change to the most unlikely bait to catch a fish and catch something. Now I set back and tell my Granddaughter "use whatever bait you want" and hope I have two so I can put one on too when she starts catching fish. Ferdi aka Fred
