Is It A Problem?

I took the cover off my Yamaha 9.9 because I saw some oil Leaking out where the head meets the lower unit.
There was a small amount of oil sitting inside. It has not affected the operation but is this something I should be concerned with?

Ive got a 60 hp yamaha and saw the same thing a few months ago. I wiped it off and ran it to see if it leaked. It didnt so Im thinking that it might have been some that I spilled when I filled the tank. Is yours oil injected or do you mix? If you dont mix maybe it is just some spilled oil. I would wipe it and run it then check it out. Billy
