Welcome to the best forum in the land!!! Welcome
I live in southern Ill. The main lakes I fish are Lake Egypt/ Crab Orchard....Rend Lake(few times a year) and Kinkaid and Cedar rarely.
I work a lot of shift work so do not get out as much as I like. I fish mainly for CRAPPIE in the spring and go all out for BASS after the spawn (crappie). Never have fished in a bass tournament and probably never will. Just enjoy fishing and I don't want to pay to do it.
I have a 1996 16' all aluminum Skeeter all decked out with all the options with a 2005 Yamaha (blew the 96 up).
Before I registered I have been reading the forums for the past couple of weeks and really enjoy what you all have to say.
So, my first fishing report...Went to Crab Orchard on Wed 16 Apr....30 plus miles of wind. Water 56 degrees and very very stained. Used minnows/jigs/and crappie nibblets....caught 3 bass no crappies and nobody was doing much better. This week with the temps rising will be the best it will be all year long on this lake (in my opinion) They are ready and will be in.
I fish a lot by myself since I work a lot of shift work. If anybody wants to join me or needs any info or a place to stay ( I have a 1996 32' JAYCO EAGLE CAMPER in my backyard all plugged in...will not charge a dime) just let me know a week or two in advance.
Take care all. And be safe and let our livewells and iced coolers be full.
